The groove example below shows how much mileage you get out of rudiments. You can play them as groove itself as well as groove variation or fill. The first groove example shows the rudimental groove itself, as noted above or in the PDF file: The second groove example shows the above groove with different orchestration/interpretation, in the context of a 16th groove, which means: 1 bar 16th groove, 1 bar rudimental groove or groove variation or fill.
