Easy Steps To Rudimental Grooves - Break It Down, Slow It Down, Throw It Down
We break down the final groove into its component parts, namely individual modules or rudiments, by taking a basic eighth-note groove and/or basic 16th-note groove as the starting base, and gradually add the rudiments used.
The positive learning effects at a glance:
- You train the ability to integrate different rudiments step by step into basic grooves at different places.
- Significant expansion of groove and fill vocabulary, especially in terms of technical level and hand/foot coordination.
- You learn to interpret the rudiments in different subdivisons.
- Breaking down complex grooves into simpler or easily digestible stage goals, which makes the exercise itself and the final goal(=final groove), much easier and more productive.
Side note: The order of the following steps(=stage goals) does not have to be followed strictly, but serves only as an example. Feel free to construct your own stage goals according to your own skill level and individual learning pace. Your groove, your choice.
Congratulations! 🎉👌👍 If you've plowed through all the steps, you can rightly pat yourself on the back. As usual, you can download all the MP3 files. Again, there are several tempos of all the groove steps available. I'm still working on the downloadable PDF file, so please be patient and stay tuned. Catch ya later, Alligator...
